Holiday Memories – Holiday Finances

Oh yes, and I would be very remiss if I did not include an acknowledgement of the tradition of holiday finances as I begin to wrap up this holiday series.

How we spend during the holidays is also due to the belief systems we have around what is appropriate to spend during the holidays or what we desire to accomplish through our holiday spending…actually one in the same.

The manner in which we spend – or more likely over spend – during the holidays is due less to what we experienced when we were small than what we are attempting to accomplish during the holiday season.  Very few of us consider the impact of our spending in the first quarter of the next year unless we hold a belief int he implications of holiday spending.  Most of us simply open our credit card statements in January and reflect upon what was accomplished or not accomplished during the holidays.

Consider how your spending might or might not shift if your focus were on the size of your credit card statement or bank account in January.  And, for those of you who do focus on this element during your holiday spending, consider what it would feel like to not even have this as a consideration.

And, then, based upon the feelings and thoughts generated by these considering’s, see if you can uncover your belief around holiday finances. And share what you have learned if it feels right.

The Shift Guru is focused on assisting individuals in shifting their beliefs about themselves and live so they may enjoy the life they came into this incarnation to enjoy. visit us at http://www.theshiftguru.comto learn more.
