Beliefs and New Year’s Resolutions

Have you ever wondered why so few of our New Year’s Resolutions are not firmly in place at the end of the year?  Have you ever decided to simply not make the resolution because you do not want one more year of ‘resolution failure’?

As I see it, and I have had many years of ‘resolution failure’, there are two main causes.  First, it seems we believe, somewhere deep in our souls, that there is something magical about a resolution made on the first day of a new year.  I have no idea why this is the case, but I think it must be because we continue to make resolutions year after year that we have never been able to sustain for any length of time.  Perhaps we think….maybe this year! or something equally improbable.

The second reason I believe New Year’s Resolutions are not effective is because we do not spend the time analyzing our beliefs about the resolutions we make.  And, in not analyzing, we set ourselves up for failure one more time.

This year, begin differently.  Identify why you have not been successful in achieving what you are thinking of creating a resolution around.  Identify, using the Belief Continuum or the 13 Steps to Shift A Belief and then move forward into the new year with a greater probability of success.

The Shift Guru is focused on assisting individuals in shifting their beliefs about themselves and live so they may enjoy the life they came into this incarnation to enjoy. visit us at http://www.theshiftguru.comto learn more.

I think ‘Resolutions’ are about ‘Magical Thinking’. Some how this year will be different so we keep trying the same thing over and over, year after year… Another definition for this is ‘Insanity’. Another great product that Barbara has created is her Shift Card Deck, which is a great tool to break out of the cycle of insanity… check it out on her website under products.
