Belief: Inter-relating with the Plant Kingdom

In the beliefs of Ireland and Scotland in particular, the plant kingdom is a very real element to be considered.  In movies like The Chronicles of Narnia, the plant kingdom really comes alive with trees walking and being hurt and seeming to respond to emotion very much like you and I.

As  I was watching this movie the other evening I began to wonder about the plant kingdom and its effect on my life and my life’s effect on it.  What is the relationship.  How might I begin to learn about the relationship and how best to honor it?  And, if I began to honor my relationship with the plant kingdom how would that change my day-to-day living experience.

Now, I do not consider myself a tree-hugger and it came to mind that perhaps this would be a good experience.  And so I went out, in the cold Colorado winter, and hugged a tree.  It did not do anything for me.  So, I sat back on a very cold rock and  considered the energy of the tree (and the rocks and the winter grasses) and they came alive energetically.

I don’t have further information than that because I simply was too cold o focus.  So I ask, what is your personal relationship with the plant kingdom?  How do you connect?  What do they share?

How would you like to consider shifting some of your long-held  beliefs?
